I don't think of cleats as "go rapidly" gear....I consider them as basic safety gear. I have witnessed a number of persons fall and drop guns or slip and fall putting on hiking footwear when it would not materialize should they ended up sporting cleats. the one time I'v viewed them be a disadvantage was on stairs, platforms and many others that do
